Led by NorthBridge Leadership Partners

Coaching for hospital leaders, built around the decisions in front of you.

Rural hospital leaders are carrying more than ever: transformation plans, new services, workforce shortages, technology choices, and boards that need to understand all of it. David Jackson of NorthBridge Leadership Partners leads 618Today's coaching for hospital leaders across Southern Illinois and the Metro East, helping them make those decisions well and carry them through.

Who it is for

Leaders carrying a hospital through change

Hospital CEOs and presidents

A confidential thinking partner for the decisions only you can make, and for leading your organization through them.

Senior leaders

Chief nursing, financial, and operating officers and physician leaders taking on larger roles or new programs.

New and emerging leaders

Leaders in their first year in a role, or being prepared for the next one, so the organization keeps its leadership bench.

Boards and trustees

Board development and education on technology, governance, and the decisions in front of the hospital, explained plainly.

What coaching covers

The real work of leading a rural hospital today

Leading through transformation

Turning a Transformation Plan or a new service line into decisions, priorities, and a team that delivers them.

Technology and governance decisions

Where technology, operations, risk, and performance meet: what to fund, what to govern, and what to say no to.

Building the leadership team

Roles, accountability, and the conversations that turn a group of managers into a leadership team.

Board development

Helping leaders and trustees work together, with education the board can use to govern well.

The first year in a new role

A deliberate start: relationships, early priorities, and the first decisions that set a leader's credibility.

A written development plan

Goals tied to the organization's priorities, agreed at the start and reviewed as you go, so progress is visible.

How it works

Four steps, agreed in writing before we begin

Listen and assess

Conversations with the leader and, where useful, the people around them, to understand the role, the pressures, and the goals.

Write the plan

A short development plan with goals tied to the organization's priorities and a clear sense of what success looks like.

Coach on real decisions

Regular sessions built around the decisions and situations actually in front of the leader, not a generic curriculum.

Review and renew

Progress reviewed against the plan at agreed points, with the plan adjusted as the leader and the organization change.

Led by David Jackson

David Jackson, MBA, Founder and Principal, NorthBridge Leadership Partners

David advises leadership teams at consequential moments, where technology, operations, risk, and organizational performance converge, and helps them bridge vision and execution. He leads every coaching engagement and brings in other specialists as the plan requires.

"Strategy only creates value when it moves into action."

Supported by 618Today

Where a leader's plan involves Rural Health Transformation Program funding, grant reporting, or a program to deliver, 618Today supports the engagement with that program and funding view.

Common questions

Coaching, answered

How long does coaching last?

We agree the length, the cadence of sessions, and the review points in writing before we begin, so the commitment is clear on both sides.

Is coaching confidential?

Yes. What a leader discusses with a coach stays between them. The goals in the development plan are shared only with the people the leader and sponsor agree on at the start.

Can our board take part?

Yes. Board development and education can run alongside a leader's coaching, or on its own.

Can grant funding pay for leadership development?

Sometimes, depending on the terms of the grant. We confirm whether a cost is allowable in writing before any work begins.

Will I work with more than one coach?

David leads the engagement. When a leader's plan calls for other expertise, he brings it in and the plan says so.

Do sessions happen in person?

In person in the region or by video, whichever works for the leader.
